Wuthering Waves 2.2 Update and Steam Release Details

The hit gacha, Wuthering Waves continues to expand its world with the highly anticipated Version 2.2 update, "Tangled Truth in Inverted Tower," launching on March 27, 2025. Version 2.2 update introduces new content, characters, and features while also setting the stage for the game's long-awaited debut on Steam, scheduled for April 29, 2025. Wuthering Waves Version 2.2: Tangled Truth in Inverted Tower

Version 2.2 update takes us into Avinoleum Theological Seminary, a mysterious floating region in Rinascita. Avinoleum is a seminary located mid-air, giving us gravity-defying ways to navigate, like the Gravity Calibrators, which allow you to change the direction of gravity, and Ace Wings, which let you chase and capture light sparks along the Wind Trail. The main quest, "The Maiden, The Defier, The Death Crier," takes you deep into Rinascita's history and reveals more about the enigmatic Sentinel. We’ll gain the new Gravity Adjustment mechanic, which brings fresh movement options, allowing for dynamic exploration and combat strategies.

New Resonator: Cantarella

Another powerful Resonator joins the roster with 2.2. Cantarella is a 5-star Havoc Resonator, wieding a Rectifier infused with poisonous and aquatic-themed abilities. Her skills include toxic jellyfish attacks and healing effects, making her a versatile choice for both offense and support.

Rover: Aero

Rover gets a third Resonance kit, Aero. The Aero attribute grants aerial combat capabilities. With airborne attacks and team-wide healing, attribute kit gives Rover a unique blend of mobility and utility. Rover’s other two Resonance skills are Spectra and Havoc. You can change your resonance skills by going to the Resonance Conversion on the Resonator tab and clicking the circle next to your resonance skill, underneath your name.

Fresh Echoes and Weapon Rewards

Players are also getting new Echoes, including "Nightmare: Lampylumen Myriad" and "Reminiscence: Fleurdalys." Additionally, the Phantom Echo "Capitaneus" makes its debut.

Oh! And don’t forget to strengthen your arsenal with the 5-star sword "Bloodpact’s Pledge" you receive as a reward for completing the main quest.

Event Rewards and Game Improvements

Version 2.2 will introduce a range of limited-time events packed with valuable rewards. A special login event grants 10 free wishes, while exploration-based activities yield currency and exclusive items. A revamped supply pack system simplifies the process of gathering materials for character enhancements and upgrades.

Quality-of-life improvements also make their way into this update. Enhanced color settings, a story review feature, and expanded waypoint deployment improve accessibility and navigation, ensuring a smoother experience for both new and returning players.

Steam Release: A Major Milestone

Wuthering Waves' Steam release on April 29, 2025, marks a major step forward for the game. The Steam release will also include cross-platform data-sharing across PS5, PC, and mobile, so you can seamlessly switch devices without losing progress. This expansion to Steam introduces the game to a broader audience, increasing accessibility for those who prefer playing on PC.
