About She-Hulk

She-Hulk first appeared in the first volume of The Savage She-Hulk in February 1980. is a series about criminal lawyer Jennifer Walters (Maslany) who receives an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, The Hulk, after she was shot in the back by merciless thugs trying to silence her. Though Walters receives all of Hulk’s abilities in a milder form, she’s still able to maintain control over her emotions, intelligence, and personality. She’s still prone to fits of rage and, for a while was unable to transform back to her normal self, though, it was later discovered her inability to transform at will was pretty much psychosomatic. In later comics, her She-Hulk transformation became permanent.

She-Hulk is affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D., having helped The Avengers on numerous occasions. Though her powers are considered a mild version of her cousin’s powers, throughout history, She-Hulk has received increased powers with the help of Scarlet Witch and Eson, the Celestial.

At one point, Thor even said in Avengers #2 (2018) that She-Hulk "could seemingly tear me asunder with her bare hands, if she so desired" after her “upgrade” from Eson.

The Savage She-Hulk was co-created by Stan Lee and John Buscema. The cover art for The Savage She-Hulk #1 is by John Buscema.
