Beginner’s Guide to Cooking in Throne and Liberty

Leveling Up Cooking in Throne and Liberty

Cooking in Throne and Liberty does more than fill up your inventory space with meals. Like most MMOs, cooking allows you to create meals that buff your character for defense, attack, health, and even brings you luck in earning more Sollant – the primary currency throughout Solisium. Food buffs are an important aspect of leveling and advancing to end-game content.

Where to Cook

You can cook at a Cooking Oven located in major towns Kastleton, Stonegard Castle, Vienta Village, and Herba Village. Check your map for a fireplace icon or campfire icon. There are also campfires throughout Solisium where you can cook meals or sit down and rest.

Gathering Ingredients and Materials

A good chef needs quality ingredients, and Throne and Liberty gives you plenty of ways to gather them.

Common Ingredients

Stock up on Salt, Eggs, Honey, and Golden Rye from the Sundries Merchant. Some of these items have daily purchase limits, so plan ahead.

Rare Ingredients

Some of the best meals require rare materials, which drop from specific creatures under certain conditions. Keep an eye out for:

  • Thick Meat is found on large beasts.

  • Sea Crab Nippers are harvested from crabs near the shore.

  • Scorpion Tails drop from desert creatures, especially during rainy weather.

Fishing for Key Ingredients

Level up your fishing and cooking together, as many recipes require fish. As your fishing skill improves, so does the quality of your catches, thus improving the quality of the ingredients you can use in your recipes. Once you reach Fishing level 20, you can catch rare fish for rare and outstanding dishes.

Crafting and Success Rates

Not all meals turn out the same, and crafting in Throne and Liberty involves more than just tossing ingredients together. Choose the right ingredients to make high-quality dishes.

Substituting Materials

Some recipes let you swap ingredients, but doing so can lower the crafting success rate. Stick to the required materials for the best results.

Crafting Grades

Using higher-quality materials increases the odds of crafting a higher quality dish. The better the quality, the stronger the buff.

"Great Success" Bonus

Sometimes, crafting results in a "Great Success," producing bonus meals or items that can be sold for extra gold.

How to Speed Level Cooking

The more you cook, the better your dishes come out. But if you want to speed level cooking to reach level 20 Cooking Mastery, focus on:

  • Repeating Simple Recipes: Healthy Milk is an easy way to grind cooking XP because the ingredients are easiest to acquire.

  • Using Boosting Items: Pickled Fruit Candy speeds up mastery progression.

  • Cooking in Bulk – Making multiple dishes at once helps level up faster.

Speed Cooking Guide

Here’s a quick point of reference to level up your cooking.

  • From level 1 to 3: Meat and Onion Soup.

  • 3 to 4: Kastler Salad.

  • 4 to 8: Wild Game Steak. You’ll need to farm Chewy Meat from Black Boars in Purelight Hill while it’s raining.

  • 8 to 13: Healthy Milk.

  • 13 to 17: Grilled Crown Fish. It gives 1,158 Fishing XP. The easiest fish to farm for this recipe are Arowana, easily found in Sanctuary Oasis and Belphoret Bass in any body of freshwater.

  • 17 to 20: Craft Scorpion Tail Fritters.

Best Meals for PvP and PvE

There are some dishes that are specifically for PvP, PvE, and Guild Buffs. Then, there are non-specific recipes that are just best suited for PvP or PvE situations.

Best Recipes for PvP

  • Vienta Banquet increases PvP hit chance by 100.

  • Cold Jellyfish Salad increases PvP hit and critical hit chance by 100 and CC chance by 75.

Best PvE Buffs

  • Kastler Salad gives you a 50% experience boost, which is perfect for leveling up your character.

  • Rye Bread increases fishing mastery by 15%. So, if you’re focused on leveling fishing, this is a great buff.

  • Honey Sponge Cake restores 500 and 500 mana over 18 seconds.
