The holidays are fast approaching people! I know this can be a stressful time and that none of us want to be caught running to CVS or Walmart to buy a last minute gift of a frying pan and a bag of chips. I myself have been a victim of that last minute purchase, and the reason? “I didn’t know what to get you.”

At Blizzcon 2018, Blizzard unveiled a new Overwatch hero that no one knew they were even working on. Ashe, who leads the Deadlock Gang, is typical of the Western cowgirl villain. Ashe looks to be a fun hero to play who will likely be able to counter Pharah, Widow and Genji. Cool.

Staying home and handing out candy doesn’t have to be dull. After all, Halloween is supposed to be a magical night, as pagans believe it’s the night that the veil is thinnest and we’re able to more easily communicate with and feel the presence of our lost loved ones. World of Warcraft's in-game lore has focused primarily on Azeroth's kings and male leaders with female protagonists being side quests and intermissions. But Legion began focusing more on its female leaders. From the Loa telling Warchief Vol'jin to choose Sylvanas "The Banshee Queen" Windrunner as his predecessor to her sister Alleria Windrunner harnessing The Void, Legion set the stage for Azeroth's female leaders to be at the forefront.

Dragon Con is happening this Labor Day weekend and, due to a family emergency, I won't be able to make it. This is the second Con I've had to miss this year and I'm so heartbroken!

So, instead of getting to see and possibly interview some amazing actors and writers (Anjali Bhimani aka Overwatch's Symmetra, the always amazing John Barrowman, the cast of Black Lightning, Peter Capaldi aka The Doctor and his companion Bil aka Pearl Mackie and Karen Gillan), I'll be home, letting my teen angst resurface by watching some of my favorite teen films.
