Top 5 Favorite E3 Announcements from Bethesda

E3 is coming at us FAST. The Electronic Entertainment Expo will take place June 12-14. Earlier this week Bethesda Softworks reaffirmed the hype for their announcement. The terse but tantalizing tweet has fans speculating about what Bethesda could be up to. The internet is buzzing with theories of what they might announce.

Theories include DLCs for Prey, Wolfenstein 2, Quake and Dishonored 2, Could there be an Elder Scrolls 6 be in the mix? (Skyrim came out over seven years ago!) Or will Bethesda give us an entirely new game to blow our minds? In the meantime, let's reminisce about the top 5 times Bethesda rocked our worlds with their E3 announcements!

5. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

An early but critical moment in Bethesda's history, Oblivion was the first Bethesda game to break into the mainstream.

4. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

At this point in gaming history who hasn't played or heard of Skyrim? Its immersive wintry environments, high amount of replayability, and fresh but familiar use of fantasy elements have made the game iconic. This open-world RPG is never far from our hearts.

3. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Morrowind was absolutely lit! The third game in the series was the first to not run on MS-DOS (lol) and appeared on Microsoft’s first Xbox, crossing over to consoles for the first time. So much freedom in the open world--the ability to do whatever you wanted was praised and welcomed after Daggerfall. Welcome you freely, outlander!

2.  Fallout 4

Do you remember where you were when Fallout 4 was announced? Todd Howard shows off the start of the game, as nearly a perfect start to any science-fiction end-of-the-world piece of art as has ever been produced. When the final product arrived, the hype proved to be very real.

1. Fallout 3

The first Fallout title produced by Bethesda changed EVERYTHING and cemented them in the industry forever. After purchasing the franchise from Interplay and changing Fallout's gameplay from isometric third-person to a first-person perspective, no one was prepared for the effect it would have on the gaming community. Fallout 3 won countless Game Of The Year awards and was met with widespread critical acclaim. Timeless and respected, this title changed the way many people looked at video games positing Bethesda as a titan in the industry.
