Jessica Chastain’s The 355 Gets Early 2021 Release Date
At the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Jessica Chastain pitched The 355, a woman-led spy film that would star herself, Penélope Cruz, Lupita Nyong’o, and Fan Bingbing. Twitter received a special treat when The 355’s official Twitter account dropped a trailer with a January 15, 2021 release date.
About the 355
When a dangerous, top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, badass, rival covert operatives must join forces to stop World War III. CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown (Chastain) teams up with computer specialist and former MI6 ally Khadijah (Nyong’o), a rival German agent Marie (Kruger), and skilled Colombian psychologist Graciela (Cruz) on a high-speed, yet delicate (and off the books) mission to retrieve the weapon. All the while, they are being tracked by a mysterious woman, Lin Mi Sheng (Fan).
Also joining the action-packed film is Marvel Cinematic Universe star Sebastian Stan and Édgar Ramírez (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story). The 355 was directed by Simon Kinberg and co-written by Kinberg and Theresa Rebeck. The 355 will be released to theaters. There’s currently no word on how long it will take for the film to be accessible on streaming platforms.
While this film looks amazing, we’re not sure how Covid-19 will effect in-theater turnout.
