Religion, Industries, and More Coming to the Farthest Frontier in August
Exciting news for settlers of Farthest Frontier! Crate Entertainment is unveiling a major update that will bring a host of new features to this immersive medieval city builder. Since its Early Access launch, Farthest Frontier has captivated nearly one million players, offering them the opportunity to protect and guide their band of settlers. Now, with the upcoming update, players can look forward to fulfilling their settlers' spiritual needs with the religion system, constructing guild halls, introducing new industries, defending against new raider types, and much more.
One of the standout additions in this update is the religion system, allowing players to shape their settlers' faith and provide spiritual fulfillment. Through the use of relics, players can inspire reverence and gain unique perks that bolster their towns. Whether it's excavating ruins or purchasing from traveling merchants, different sources provide opportunities to obtain relics and bring religion to their settlements.
The update also brings new industries to Farthest Frontier, including the introduction of paper. Settlers can turn flax into paper at the paper mill, send it to bookbinders to create books, and offer this luxury item to tier 4 homes. Additionally, libraries can be constructed in settlements, serving as a new source of entertainment. Paper will also find practical use in bureaucracy, particularly within the Guild Halls. Constructing a Guild Hall will boost one industry in your settlement, but with a limit of one Guild Hall, the choice becomes consequential for the future of your settlement.
But that's not all! Crate Entertainment has even more exciting features planned for Farthest Frontier's 1.0 launch. Here's a glimpse of what's to come:
Combat: Prepare to defend your settlement against new raider types equipped with catapults. New defensive measures, including ranged-only archers and towers to take out turrets, will provide a thrilling challenge. Deploy your troops and manage your army with the Town Center, recruit soldiers before building barracks, and strengthen your defenses.
New Animals: Experience a thriving frontier with the addition of new animals such as chickens, horses, and goats, expanding the possibilities for your settlement.
Achievements: Challenge yourself with an array of achievements that will accompany Farthest Frontier's 1.0 launch. Keep an eye out for Steam Trading Cards, which will arrive in the future.
Mod Support: Unlock the full potential of Farthest Frontier with mod support, coming soon via Steam Workshop. Customize your gameplay experience and create new adventures within the untamed wilderness.
Quality of Life: Enhancements to storage transfers/limits, raider info, crop summaries, notifications, immigration quest history, and more will improve the overall gameplay experience.
