Lost and Hound is an Adorable Blind Accessible Video Game Coming to Steam

In Lost and Hound, players will travel the world helping people and solving crimes with this sound-driven, canine adventure from Daisy Ale Soundworks. Lost and Hound follows service-dog, Biscuit— a scent-tracking Corgi who is as strong willed as she is adorable.

Lost and Hound is Fully Blind-Accessible

Lost and Hound is was built around blind accessibility. Players will use Biscuit’s superior canine senses to track down clues, piece together puzzles, solve crimes, and help people in need. Daisy Ale Soundworks incorporated innovative technology to methods to ensure the game was fully blind accessible.

Sound Cues Act as The Player’s Sense of Smell

Lost and Hound uses sound cues tell players what’s going on, directs players where to go and how to move. Players will hear a low humming when Biscuit picks up a scent. Using audio direction, players will hear sound cues, pointing players in the direction Biscuit needs to go. The volume increases when Biscuit is closer to the scent target and decreases when Biscuit is further away from her scent target.

Biscuit’s acute hearing allows her to hear sounds that are inaudible to humans. Biscuit will have to listen through walls, listen in on hushed conversations, and detecting liars by hearing their heart rate increase. With Biscuit’s keen hearing and scent tracking, players will find missing persons, solve crimes, and perform other real world service dog tasks like detecting oncoming seizures.

During her adventures, Biscuit meets other animal companions that players will be able to take on missions. Each companion has different strengths that players can use to help solve mysteries. To earn money to travel, players can complete mini tasks.

Lost and Hound has won numerous Perth awards including Gaming Excellence and Innovation Grant Award, City of Perth 2017, Screenwest Development Grant, Western Australia, 2019, and is the recipient of Epic Games MegaGrant. Lost and Hound will be coming to PC on Steam in late 2020 and to Nintendo Switch soon after.
