How to Get Magic Powder in Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty, the highly anticipated MMORPG, launched on October 1, 2024, and has quickly become one of the best free-to-play MMORPGs of the year, with its breathtaking open-world visuals and fast-paced combat. Like most MMORPGs, resource-gathering is an important part of leveling up and becoming as powerful as possible. One of the most valuable resources in Throne and Liberty is magic powder. You will need magic powder to progress through the game.

What Is Magic Powder Used For?

Magic powder is one of the most important crafting materials in Throne and Liberty. It is a main resource for creating weapons, upgrading equipment, and crafting growthstones. Growthstones are items used to enhance your gear, so having a magic powder on hand is good practice to make sure that you're always ready to upgrade.

Knowing where to find magic powder will make your journey to becoming powerful much smoother. Magic powder can be obtained in a few ways. However, the primary means for getting magic powder is by completing quests and contracts. When you reach the Starlight Observatory Ruins early in the game, you'll encounter several short contracts that offer magic powder as a reward. These missions are brief, easy to complete, and very rewarding.

There are five levels of magic powder that correspond with gear level: magic powder (white), quality magic powder (green), rare magic powder (blue), epic magic powder (purple), and legendary magic powder (orange).

The higher level of contracts, the higher the level of powder you may receive as a reward. Same with dismantling gear.

How to Get Magic Powder

To make the most out of your time in Throne and Liberty, it’s essential to develop a strategy for gathering and using magic powder effectively. Here are some tips to help you:

  1. Complete Quests and Contracts Regularly: Missions offering magic powder are scattered throughout the game. If you’re in desperate need of magic powder, prioritize completing contracts, especially the ones at the Starlight Observatory Ruins.

  2. Dismantle Unwanted Gear: Dismantle old or unused equipment to get magic powder and other resources. It’s also a good way to help clear out your inventory. Gear and equipment drops are not yet plentiful, so if you don’t have enough gear to dismantle, buy cheap, low=level equipment from the Equipment Merchant in any major city. The easiest Equipment Merchant to find is Zimmer in Kastleton, the first major town you go to. He’s to the right and across the road from the weapons builder.

  3. Upgrade Your Magic Powder: Visit crafting stations to upgrade your lower-quality powders. Combining smaller quantities into higher-tier magic powder can make a significant difference when crafting powerful weapons or enhancements.

  4. Participate in Special Events: As Throne and Liberty continues to grow, seasonal or special events will likely introduce opportunities to gather rare materials, including magic powder. Keep an eye out for these events, as they might provide additional ways to boost your stockpile.

  5. Buy at the Auction House: Like most tradeable items, you can buy magic powder from the Auction House. Players gain access to use the Auction House at level 40 and can access it by pressing Escape.

How to Dismantle Gear and Equipment

Dismantling gear is very easy.

First, open up your inventory. On the bottom right corner of your inventory screen, you will see what looks like an alchemy bottle, labeled Dissolve. Click on that, and it will bring up a window, giving you the option to select items from your inventory to dissolve or dismantle.

Crafting new weapons and upgrading equipment relies heavily on having enough magic powder. To stay prepared, regularly complete quests and contracts that offer magic powder. Dismantling gear you no longer need also helps maintain a steady supply, ensuring you’re always ready for the next crafting or upgrade challenge. Throne and Liberty is less than one week old, so there will likely be many more ways to acquire magic powder in the future.
